SmartHosting
Advanced Domain Options (ShowDomainDG.aspx)
Use this feature to have MailMax deliver all outbound email to a specified SMTP Server for final delivery. For example, you might have an internal mail server running without direct access to the internet, or you might simply want to send all outbound mail to your ISP's Mail Server to reduce the load on your internal network.

Use System Setting -
If "Use System Setting" is selected, then the System SmartHosting Address will be used. The System SmartHosting settings are set in the MailMax Admin / System Settings Tab / General Tab.

Disabled -
If SmartHosting is set to "Disabled", nothing is required in the "SmartHost Address" field.

Enabled -
If SmartHosting is set to "Enabled", you must add the IP address or hostname (ex. mail.smartmax.com) of the server you want to smarthost through in the "SmartHost Address" field.

SmartHost Address -
This field should only be filled (with the IP address or hostname (ex. mail.smartmax.com) of the server you want to smarthost through) when SmartHosting is "Enabled".

Domain Type
Advanced Domain Options (ShowDomainDG.aspx)
You can specify what type of domain you are adding to MailMax.

Normal
- Most domains will be setup as a "Normal" domain. This is a conventional domain.

Clustered - This domain is part of the domains used for a cluster of systems.

ETRN - The domain holds all mail locally until told to "despool" to another host. Note that the server that "despools" MUST support ETRN. You must add the IP address or hostname (ex. mail.smartmax.com) in the Delivery Address/Backup Priority field.

Relay to Host - Routes all incoming mail to the server specified in the Delivery Address/Backup Priority field. You must specify the IP address or hostname (ex. mail.smartmax.com) in the Delivery Address/Backup Priority field.

Backup - This domain is used to receive email should a primary domain fail. You must add the MX priority of the backup server (ex. 20) in the Delivery Address/Backup Priority field. MailMax will query DNS and send the mail to a higher priority MX record (lower MX number).

Delivery Address/Backup Priority - This field is where you specify the IP address or hostname for "ETRN" / "Relay to Host" and MX priority for a "Backup" Server.

Note: If you select "Normal" or "Clustered" you should not have anything entered into the Delivery Address/Backup Priority field.

Housekeeping

Disabled - Select to disable Housekeeping for this domain.

By Message Age - This setting allows you to delete messages from the system that are over a certain number of days old.

Blank Passwords
Advanced Domain Options (ShowDomainDG.aspx)
This setting controls how MailMax will handle users who connect to your system with blank passwords.

Use System Setting - If "Use System Setting" is selected, then the System settings for the handling of passwords will be used. Blank Password settings are set in the MailMax Admin / System Settings Tab / General Tab.

Fill with next entered - Since most users have their email passwords automated, this will let the user's next connection to POPMax or IMAPMax immediately be accepted and the password used is entered into the database as the user's new password.

Use No Password - POPMax and IMAPMax will disregard the password sent by the mail client and immediately allow connection to the system.

Disable Users - Users with blank passwords cannot connect to the system.

None - No notice is sent to the user when their box is near it's maximum capacity.

Percentage Left - When a user box drops below a given percentage (see Threshold below) a notice is sent.
